QUIZTIME: Fitness Quiz Answers, Question 4

Here is more detail on the answer to question four from the short 10 question fitness quiz we recently took!

The range of motion around a joint is:

  1. Muscular power
  2. Flexibility
  3. Agility
  4. All of these

Flexibility is the ability of a joint to move through an unrestricted, pain-free range of motion. Many variables affect the loss of flexibility including injury, inactivity or a lack of stretching. See the images for varying degrees of flexibility. The great news is that, with practice, in most cases you can increase your range of motion.

Muscular Power – Power is defined as the maximal force a muscle group is able to produce in as short amount of time possible.

Agility – Agility is defined as an athlete’s ability to move at an accelerated pace in one direction and then instantly decelerate and shift position within a matter of seconds.

Guess what? All three are important to have so make sure you incorporate not only different exercises but also different styles of exercising in your workouts!
